 Teacher professional development is an on-going practice of developing the skills, resources and attitudes needed to grow with the profession. Here are reseacrh-based resources and information suppot teachers on their journey to excellence.
Charlotte Danielson (1996) Framework for Teaching
Through empirical studies and theoretical research 4 domains of teacher responsibility (further separated into 22 elements) that promote improved student learning and professional development has been identified. The framework for teaching is used today to evalutate teacher performance as it is recognized as a description of the result of proficient teaching behavior. That is, it does not state how each element must be achieved but rather what the end product of an ideal teaching environment should be.
